Thanks, just what I needed. I guessed noone bothered to build a xplus4
binary :-) which brings us to my next question: how do you guys fire up
the Magic Voice cartridge in VICE?
I am not sure to what CRT format should I convert the raw binary at
zimmers.net... (Ultimax etc. did not work)

By the way: I just checked YAPE with Gorf and could not experience the
48 bit and triangular modes having set.

Here's a log from Gorf:
Speed select : 1.100000
Synth condition #1 set : 00
- loss effect calculation : 0
- sound source shape pitch(0) or triangle wave(8) : 0
Synth condition #2 set : 0A
- filter stages : 10
- repeat available : 2
- frame length : 20 ms/frame
- bit rate : 96 bits/frame

And here's one from WoW (same):
 Speed select : 1.100000
Synth condition #1 set : 00
- loss effect calculation : 0
- sound source shape pitch(0) or triangle wave(8) : 0
Synth condition #2 set : 0A
- filter stages : 10
- repeat available : 2
- frame length : 20 ms/frame
- bit rate : 96 bits/frame

Actually both games work with the standard Speech ROM entry points
(SAY_RAMDATA, SPEECH_RESET etc.) and not handle the Toshiba chip
directly but perhaps you're aware of that by now.

Cheers,
Attila
