Hi all 
I'm also interested in XS1541 as an interesting alternative to access IEEE devices but I don't feel so cumfortable with soldering iron ... You're writing that you've ordered one ... where did you get an oportunity to order it ?

But I talked to someone close to the designer and he said it 
is not further developed anymore, and currently only allows
read access from the PC to the IEC or IEEE488 drives.

However, I have ordered one and will see what I can do about the
firmware.
