I think the VIC-1001 character set features a yen instead of a pound symbol?
From what I read the major difference between the regular PET and VIC-20
character sets is the backslash is replaced by a pound, but I don't know if
the Japanese PET 2001 would have a backslash or yen. I suppose it depends on
how Japanese customers would react to a computer with dollars but no yens.

Best regards
