.D64 to Disk

I am wondering how much luck anyone has had transferring .D64 images to
5.25" floppies. It seems that games that work on an Emulator (Vice) do not
work loading from a 1541 or 1541 II in my case. Also, I purchased a C64TPC
cable. And if the software works with it, the software will work on a disk.
But if it doesn't work with it, the software doesn't work on a disk. 

Any help, insight, notes or directions would be greatly appreciated.
