What Ruud most probably meant:
"On *reset*, an onboard uC will isolate..."
That is: Ruud does the whole process to start even on a RESET, not only
on power-up.
If this whole process only takes place on power-up, you have to go
through the power cycle each time you want to get a new ROM content.
With Ruud's proposal, you only have to reset the machine, which might be
less stress for the ageing machine.
