Hallo allemaal, First an update: The support for subdirectories goes fine. The most important needed feature, being able to locate directories anywhere, seems to be solved. The 1541 has all kind of variables to save what sector is in use momentary. I had to find these first and then I had to create a track equivalent. Next I had to persuade the 1541 to create new directory sectors outside track 18. A nice side effect: now I have 681 tracks free at start-up. As you know I'm using JiffyDOS as base. The reason I use it is to be able to offer a fast harddisk right from the start. But there is also something like copyrights. My questions: - are there sources available of a Kernal compatible with JiffyDOS or - is anybody interested to devellop a compatible Kernal? In the last case you can take the sources of IDEJD4.ASM of my site. Just look for 'jiffy' (I just found out I didn't mark everything as it should have been) and you'll find all the routines used by JD. And IMHO some of the routines are only there to save space. For example, at $EDE5 (original 1541 Kernal) you'll find a routine to allocate the blocks of a file in BAM. Why did JD have to change that, removing a bug? -- ___ / __|__ / / |_/ Groetjes, Ruud \ \__|_\ \___| URL: Ruud.C64.org De informatie in dit e-mailbericht is vertrouwelijk en uitsluitend bestemd voor de geadresseerde.
