you could use those Atmel AT29C256 Flash-ROMs for easy
updating their ROM contents without the need for an
extra erase cycle.
And yes, Nicolas Welte's 6502-RamRom could be of some
use since with his Flasher software, the ROM is updated
in-place (!) within some seconds.
On the other hand, removing the FlashROM from the drive
and upgrading it in a dedicated FlashROM burner doesn't
cost too much extra time. So all I recommend is using
FlashROM chips instead of oldschool (E)EPROMs.
