Gabor,
Out of curiosity, why not use a 65816? It does most of the things you
mention. It can do 24-bit addressing directly, or you can specify which
64k bank to be used for programs and/or memory addressing. Zero page can
be relocated anywhere in bank 0, so you can have multiple zero-page areas.
You can also move the stack around, etc. It's implemented via registers
in a pretty straightforward way.
