VC1541 is not exactly a 1541 emulator, since it does not try to emulate
anything of the 1541 internals. It's just a serial port fileserver that
speaks the slow Commodore serial protocol.

Prlink has the capability of parallel transfers, but maybe there is no
server for the Plus/4 yet. It works fine with my PC, the C64 and a PC64
cable. Allows me to read a double sided 8250 image in about 10-15
minutes.
