My guess is that trial and error is the only way you'll find out, but
isn't the question whether or not MS-DOS can read discs with more than
8 levels? All other systems that are likely to be equipped with a CD
drive (ie Unix boxen, Macs, Wintel machines, Amigas) have support for
the Rock Ridge extensions and won't have to deal with the bare 9660
format.
