As someone here, later pointed out the FD's use external power supplies. 
So does the 1581.  In fact I *think* they might be equivalent.  (I know for
sure that the 1581 uses the exact same supply as the RAMLink.) 

Getting the 1581 power supply locally should be no major problem.  CMD in
Austria, as Marko reminded us would have them.

Sorry I did not know this before I cleaned out my closet.  Next time I do
more reclaiming of space in my tiny apartment, I'll remember to give first
